What is the Metal Core PCB (MCPCB) ?
According to the location of the metal core and the trace layers of the PCB, MC PCB can be divided into 5 kinds.
1. Single Layer MCPCB (one trace layer on one side),
2.COB LED PCB (one trace layer),
3.Double Layers MCPCB (two trace layers on one side),
4.Double-Sided MCPCB (two trace layers on both sides),
5.Multilayers MCPCB (More than two trace layers on every board).
In order to cut the metal core layer correctly without breaking the insulation.It is very vital and important to control cut inaccurate depth.When the counter is routing an aluminum base, the high torque spindle motor is used.An MCPCB prototype is produced by using machines with precisely driven Z-axis, an accurate and stable mechanism, and a flat working platform.
Thermal Conductivity and Thermal Resistance
Due to its MCPCB thermal conductivity, PCB factory usually uses Aluminum with lower mcpcb thermal resistance.This is because, compared to FR4 PCB boards, the metal core PCBs are able to transfer heat approximately 8 to 9 times faster.The MCPCB laminates continuously disperse heat to maintain the components, thereby improving its performance and service life.
Metal Core PCB
Metalcore PCB means that boards use a base metal material as the part that spreads heat on a circuit board.Sometimes it also can be called as the metal core printed circuit board.
Why use base metal on the metal core PCB? Maybe just because they can disperse heat from the critical components of the MCPCB board to less critical components.
The common materials used in making metal core PCBs are copper, aluminum, and steel alloy.LED MCPCB

Stability of Metal Core PCB
Compared to insulating materials, the size of metal core PCB makes it more stable. The size usually changes about 2.5% to 3% when an Aluminum PCB heated from 30℃ to 150℃.
